We've retained the Asia Cup beating Korea 7 - 2. It was beautiful.. some of the goals breathtaking.. and after a long time with regards to Indian Hockey, I was so proud. It was great to see the commentators get choky.. so maybe they aren't as eloquent as the cricketers.. their vocabs aren't filled with lively metaphors and the adjectives sometimes get repetitive. But I know its always the same voice that takes me through the hockey matches.. whether it's the Champion's trophy.. or the Asian games.. the Olympics.. or any other hockey tourney. He's seen it all.. he's seen us be great.. he's seen us suck.. he's probably one of the few who've continued to follow the game.. there aren't many like him in India.. and such wins should be dedicated to that group.. it's coz of such people that the game is still remembered.. even if it's through the repetitive use of "sooj-boojh, samanvaya aur taalmel"..
The Indian team played to a packed stadium.. they walked out to a standing ovation.. nothing promotes a game better than success. Somewhere down the road, I had lost my faith in Indian hockey. I hope.. hope.. hope.. to get back on the trail..
Well done guys.. it was awesome!!

I had the feeling that the indian hockey players just saw "chak de india" before the match :). I do wish and hope that India follows it up well.

I agree, after the lows of the Olympics, I had almost given up hope. The last few minutes against Poland at Sydney are still clearly etched in my mind. And it hurt real bad.
But Sunday was beautiful. They could have beaten anyone that day with that attack. I hope they keep playing this was forever. Keeping my fingers crossed. And if this is the Chak De effect, I really would love SRK, though not like Karan Johar.
@Goyal - Like KJo, I hope not! =))
